Hi Grim,

Nice post – shows a good insight into what current players are wearing.

However I’m not sure if the reasoning behind players using ice hockey elbow guards is strictly correct.

I think the reason people used ice hockey elbow guards was because nothing else was on the market.

OBO and other brands had full arm guards in the past, but goalkeepers have begun to pad down; hence OBO have now produced a specific elbow guard.

The main problems with ice hockey elbow guards are:

The range of motion they offer- IE not being able to straighten you arm.
The protection is mainly focussed on the elbow and forearm to protect when you fall.

Lol! in Canada, there’s an ice hockey store in like every neighbourhood we call ice hockey “hockey” here.
