The biggest pointer that I miss in your article is that a keeper should try to stand still in his/her ready position before the 2nd shot comes in. That is if you have the time of course, so basically with any 2nd save you don’t need to throw yourself/dive to get there in time (or just miss out on), make sure you are prepared for the shot.

The reason is very simple: you have way better odds of saving the ball when you are fully ready and just out of position (say 0.6m from where you would ideally be standing) than when you are near the ideal position but still running/leaning towards 1 side/with your weight backwards/…

Yep, I’d agree totally; apologies for leaving it out! Like you say, you need to get ‘square’ to the shooter and set in your stance to make the save. That way you have an increased chance of covering goal and stopping shots as you’re not missing the shot or diving and then getting out of position.

any recomendation for a situation where my defence is slow

if im in a two-on-one stituation i usually force the player into a pass then dive and hope but its rarely sucessesfull
